So the "Mother of the Year" award is not going to me. It all started this past Sunday when Sawyer and I returned home from being with family. I went to get him out of his car seat and I noticed that Sawyer had a nice surprise waiting for me. I didn't even know where to begin. It was one of "those" diapers. Fifty wipes later, I decided that he needed a bath because I was not sure if I had gotten it all. After his bath, I put him in the middle of our bed so I could go clean up the madness. I went two doors down the hallway to spray Shout on his changing pad cover and his outfit. All of a sudden, I heard "THUMP". I ran into our room and he was lying on his back and he had that cry where he couldn't even make a noise for 30 seconds. I picked him up immediately and walked around to console him. He was fine after a few minutes and then I lost it!! He looked up at me as I was holding him and his eyes were saying, "Mommy, I'm okay and I love you!". I was by myself because Keith had just left for training for the week in Cleveland. I called my Mom and told her what happened. She knew that I was not okay so she said that she would come over. I decided to call the after hours nurse to let them know what happened and to see if I needed to take him in to be checked out. She couldn't have been any nicer and then she told me that the same thing happened to her little boy. She was glad to hear that he was moving his neck okay and acting normal. She did want me to wake him up twice that night to make sure he was responsive. Mom and I went and checked on him at 9 and as soon as I opened the door he started moving. I changed his diaper and put him back to sleep. I checked on him agian at 2 and the same thing happened. I kept thanking God over and over for watching over Sawyer. All in all, it was truly a lesson learned.
I know that he still loves his "Mummy".
